Brutal,Bloody,Costly
Vietnam was a bloody and never-ending brutal war, taking the lives of more than fifty-eight thousand American soldiers and an estimated two-million Vietnamese soldiers and civilians, making it the fourth costliest war the U.S. has ever fought. It took a lot of money, weapons, time, and soldiers to complete this on going battle.
The Vietnam War was a tough time for many American's to get through. Many lost family members, and soldiers were away from their families any wheres from months to years at a time. How did this all come to a start? Who's to blame for sending so many troops to Vietnam? Eisenhower? Kennedy? Johnson? It's hard to tell because they all sent so many troops and advisers and they all contributed to the mess, creating massive protests across the country.
Along with the soldiers, two world leaders were assassinated as well. John F. Kennedy, the U.S. president was shot and killed on November 22, 1963 in Dallas Texas. Ngo Dinh Diem, the leader of South Vietnam at the time, was brutally tortured and killed by his own people because he was a terrible leader.
Many still grieve the loss of family and close friends. No American will ever forget this long, brutal tragedy.
